Born on May 6, 1932, near Petit-Goâve, Haiti, Alfred was raised in a large, close-knit family where he developed a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and faith. He began his education at L’École des Frères de l’Instruction Chrétienne and continued at Lycée Faustin Soulouque, experiences that helped shape the values he carried throughout his life.
Alfred began his professional journey as a teacher after earning his degree in Port-au-Prince. As the eldest son, he played a vital role in supporting and guiding his siblings, demonstrating quiet leadership and compassion. He later transitioned into public service, working within Haiti’s Department of Finance. In 1966, he was honored as a French Government Scholar, an opportunity that expanded his path and led him into a career in accounting.
In 1958, he married Marie Thérèse Lanauze, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, faith, and shared purpose. Together, they eventually moved to the United States, settling in Queens, New York, where Alfred built a long and dedicated career as an accountant. Known for his consistency and integrity, he commuted daily and worked diligently until his retirement in 1997.
