It is with deep sadness that the passing of Jason Wayne McKenzie, 48, of Nashville, Tennessee, is announced. He passed away on April 16, 2026, leaving behind family, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
Born on September 9, 1978, in Nashville to Lydia McDonald and Morris McKenzie, Jason was known for his vibrant personality and expressive nature. He had a sharp sense of humor and an outspoken spirit that brought laughter and energy to those around him. His ability to light up a room made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
Jason had a deep love for music and was especially passionate about playing the drums. Music served as a powerful outlet for his creativity and individuality, reflecting the rhythm and energy he carried throughout his life. His connection to music was a defining part of who he was.
In addition to his personal passions, Jason dedicated many years of his professional life to C.O. Christian and Son Electric Company, where he was known as a reliable and hardworking individual. His commitment to his work earned the respect of colleagues and those he worked alongside.
He is survived by his father, Morris McKenzie; stepmother, Wendy McKenzie; mother, Lydia McDonald; grandmother, Sue Patterson; sister, Taylor; and stepsister, Shannon Durham, along with extended family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory.
Jason’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved him. His laughter, spirit, and authenticity will never be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
